Chimes Staff Wins Awards 

The Chimes staff won in multiple categories first, second, third places and an honorable mention at the National College Media Association Convention in Atlanta.

For Division Three, which includes schools nationwide with enrollments of 1,000 to 2,999, the Chimes received a first place with Ava Boldizar’s work in breaking news for “Following mental health crises, student expelled for possession of loaded gun.”

For second place, the staff took best website

For third place, the staff received best headline for “Misery in Missouri: new dress code pits women against women.”

Zach Basselman earned an honorable mention for his column “Behind the crash: East Palestine, corporate lobbying and regulation.”

“I am immensely proud of the staff who worked so hard to win these awards, and I am excited for the coming years to see what else we can accomplish,” Adrian Suppes, editor-in-chief, said.

“I see how hard the staff works, and I am thrilled,” Kelly Messinger, Chimes adviser, said. “To win in a national contest is most gratifying.”
